NORTON YOUTH SOCCER
FALL 2010 PLAYER/VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION
NYS is entirely volunteer driven. We depend almost entirely on parents to fill positions for coaches, field volunteers, NYS Board positions and NYS Officers. We must have more people involved, or the league will have a very difficult time meeting the most basic needs of the players.
In order to promote and broaden volunteer participation, a volunteer fee of $20 per family will be assessed to the first player registered per family. This fee will be reimbursed at the end of the season to all who have completed eligible volunteer service. During the Fall recreation on-line registration you will have an opportunity to select volunteer roles. Click here for a list of volunteer positions (a new window will open). Player DOB must be between 8-1-1995 and 7-31-2005 for the Fall season. See the age chart on the bottom of this page for more info.
League Structure: U06 - U15 registration is $85.00/player. A $20 volunteer fee will be assessed to the first player registered per family.
U06 – Children younger than the U06 cutoff cannot register to play in the NYS league. There are no exceptions to this rule. However, the Norton Rec Department, in cooperation with NYS, will be running a program for younger players. Information will be posted on the NYS website.
U06, U07, U08, U09/U10, U11/U12 – There will be separate divisions for girls U06, girls U07, girls U08, girls U09/U10, girls U11/U12, boys U06, boys U07, boys U08, boys U09/U10 and boys U11/U12. Teams are formed by league age, not by school grade.
U15 – This division will be coed and will combine U13/U14/U15 ages into one group due to low numbers of players in each age group. High school varsity and JV players are not eligible.
Requests - NYS will not normally honor a request to place a child with a specific player or coach. Requests to play up/down in the recreational league will be considered by the NYS Board.
Spring / Indoor - Information will be posted on the NYS website and a mailing will go out when plans are finalized.
NYS is once again using an online registration system. There will be no walk in signups this year.
No registration refunds will be issued unless a family moves out of town or a player must drop out due to high school soccer. Anyone registering for the Fall recreational season after May 24th may be placed on a wait list and assigned to a team if/when space is available. A $15.00 nonrefundable late fee will be imposed for each late registration accepted.
Uniforms - You will be asked to provide a recommended uniform size for your child.
Please note the size provided will be used to help NYS determine the
most suitable distribution of uniform sizes for each age group. Sizes will be used to establish guidelines for ordering
rather than ordering for each individual child. NYS cannot guarantee
that your child will receive the size that you specified. NYS
appreciates your assistance with this matter and hopes that this process
will result in uniforms sizes that are appropriate for each age group.
