The May General Meeting for Norton Youth Soccer is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13th from 7:00 to 9:30 at the Yelle School library. Topics for discussion include Board positions, spring soccer (our competitive teams are 35-6-4 in the first month of play!), field improvements, and an on-line registration status update. We welcome any other questions brought by meeting attendees.

There are less than 2 weeks left before registration closes for NYS' Fall Recreational season. Please visit the NYS website ( for more details. Anyone registering after May 24th will be placed on a wait list and will be assigned to a team if/when space is available. A $15.00 nonrefundable late fee will be imposed for each late registration accepted.

Registration is also open for NYS's popular week long summer camp. The camp will run from July 27th to July 31st. A brochure and link to the registration page can be found by clicking on “Summer Camp” on the NYS home page (

Please be aware that over 700 kids participate in the NYS fall season and over 200 kids in the competitive travel season. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to provide your children the experience you have come to expect year after year. NYS is completely volunteer driven and is in need of volunteers for the following Fall positions: Rec League Coordinator, Age Group Coordinators, Equipment Manager, coaches, and people to work the grill. Also, as we begin to renovate the fields, the league is in need of people to help drive fundraising activities. NYS is also looking for someone to manage the inventory and sale of NYS merchandise. Congratulations to the U9 Girls (Lynch), U11 girls (Whiteside), U12 girls (Dermody), and U13 boys (Lynch) teams for winning their ForeKicks championship games!! The U9 girls beat Medfield 3-2, the U11 girls beat Mansfield 2-1, the U13 boys beat Medfield 3-2, and the U12 girls beat Norton's own U11 girls (Flaherty) 2-0. Congratulations also go out to the following ForeKicks playoff teams: U11 Boys (Scarpetti), U12 Girls (Dermody), U10 Boys (O'Leary), U12 Boys (Ayers), U13 Girls (Quintanilla), U13 Boys (Rogers) and U14 Girls (Dole).
